CBTA | EBT

Competency-Based Training and Assessment
Evidence-Based Training*

Aviation faces a common challenge: pilot training must evolve at the same pace as flight operations and cockpit technology. Competency-Based Training and Assessment (CBTA) and Evidence-Based Training (EBT) are not merely future regulatory compliance, but a real necessity to ensure safety, efficiency, and resilience.

Results from recent Venturi Aerospace programs show that instructors require support in identifying and assessing competencies. Experience has demonstrated that when the system integrates intelligent measurement and reporting processes, instructors can focus their efforts on directing the session toward the Observable Behaviors (OBs) that truly require attention. This not only reduces the workload but also transforms the instructor's role into that of a true facilitator of competency development.

Leadership is not improvised.

In current flight training, leadership and teamwork skills are rarely developed in a structured way. This results in passive cockpits and a lack of initiative in critical situations. Venturi Aerospace provides early indicators of LTW (Leadership and Teamwork) competency so that airlines and training centers can identify and strengthen these skills from the initial training stages, creating proactive and safe pilots.

A simple implementation

Most CBTA | EBT platforms are limited to managing schedules and forms, with no real connection to the training process or the pilot program.

This turns the methodology into an administrative burden and detracts from the learning experience.

At Venturi Aerospace, the CBTA is experienced holistically: we combine immersive audiovisual training, scenario-based assessment, and instructor calibration to ensure we all speak the same pedagogical language. Each assessment generates a personalized learning path that evolves with the pilot's performance, guaranteeing a real-world, practical implementation aligned with operational needs.

Training Directors
supported

Training leaders are overwhelmed by audits, inspectors, and regulatory paperwork. Amid this workload, their core purpose—training and improving—has been pushed aside.

As a result, innovation stalls and traditional models persist. Pilots are unaware of their competency gaps, and training centers lack visibility into their own structural deficiencies.

Venturi Aerospace identifies these blind spots, reveals the root causes affecting performance, and provides sustainable improvement guidelines. With our reports and matrices, we anticipate training issues before they arise.

Data Analysis and Visualization

Comprehensive, compelling, and immediate reports to iterate quickly and make informed decisions.

Individual reports

Venturi Aerospace generates individual reports for each pilot that reflect performance across their Observable Behaviors (OBs). These reports analyze strengths, areas for improvement, and progression within each CBTA competency, enabling instructors and students to identify performance patterns and guide the development of critical operational competencies.

Group reports

Venturi Aerospace’s group reports use advanced visualizations such as heatmaps, alluvial diagrams, and sunburst charts to represent collective performance trends and correlations between competencies, scenarios, and outcomes. These tools enable clear identification of critical group areas, strongest competencies, and common progression patterns. Based on these analyses, we generate dynamic learning pathways that adjust content and scenarios according to the real needs identified in each pilot cohort.
